The Westminster City Council has passed the motion to rename Chelsea Park “Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park “. It is a GREAT honor that the City of Westminster has decided to rename the park in Jessica’s memory! Jessica will never be forgotten!
Don Tripp was hired on as the new director of Parks, Recreation and Libraries in the city of Westminster back in June, 2012 and was instrumental in helping the motion to rename the park pass. Thank you Don for all of your help!
Help make this park a reality for the community and Jessica!

I think that is great that Jessica will be Memorialized w/ the Park being named after her. Though I have to question, whom is Chelsea and why was the park named after her in the first place? Just would hate to rename a park for a “better” cause if the 1st name was meaningful to someone else.
I checked with Rebecca – Jessica’s Aunt – who told me that Westminster named all their parks after cities in England. The name Chelsea Park had no connection to anything.
This is wonderful! What a great way to celebrate Jessica!
I’m so happy to know that Westminster is doing this. What an amazing impact Jessica has had on this community. I’d rather have her here, but she is with God and she is at peace. Until we see her again in Heaven (or for most of us, see her for the first time) then at least we can have this memorial as a loud statement that we will never forget her. Wow – this is just amazing!!
im so glad the community is renaming the park, I’m from houston and i will never forget jessica she is an angel in heaven now; and i know some how she was an angel sent to the world by God to have this impact in the community… God bless her family.. Jessica will always be in our hearts…

Jessica, I am so happy for you and your family that the park name will change. And as far as your community, it will be a place for them to gather and remember how one lil sweet beautiful girl named Jessica brought them all together, all together just like one big huge family… I wished I lived closer so I could come check it all out. maybe one day I can make it that way… I will never forget you as long as I live, you stole my heart from day one as I am sure you did many others also from all over the whole world…. WE LOVE YOU JESSICA AND JUSTICE IS COMING SOON BABY GIRL. YOU JUST KEEP FLYING HIGH WITH THOSE ANGELS AND YOU WILL SEE, coming real soon…. XOXOXO
Oh and i would like to add, if there will be a statue of Jessica built for the park, I think they should pick the picture of her blowing that bubble and being the fun kid that everyone knew and the work in her lil puppy to it also….
